A lot of people kept asking if it is possible to lose weight without exercise and I will say yes it is. You can lose weight without exercise.

However, you must have it in the back of your mind that it is not the fastest way to lose weight nor will it help you maintain your current weight for a long time. Without exercise, you will only lose water and muscle tissue more than body fat.

The side effect of this is that loss of water and muscle slows down your metabolism and will end up making you gain weight faster. Your metabolism will increase which will lead to more cravings for food and inevitably it will lead to weight gain.

If you really cannot include exercise in your weight loss program, the fact is that you gain weight when you eat more calories per day than your body burns. In losing weight, you either have to burn more calories than you eat through exercise. You can also choose to eat fewer calories than your body burns. It will be a lot easier if you combine exercise with diet to lose weight.

However, for some reason, exercise is ruled out of some weight loss programs either because of health challenges. There is no denying the fact that weight loss will definitely improve your health, so it is very fine to set up a diet plan that will work for that situation. Below are two steps that will help you lose weight without exercise

1, Find out your body calories need

You need to know the calories your body will need per day. This is very easy to achieve by using tools like calorie counters that are available online. There is also some site that will show you the estimate of calorie your body needs per day based on your height and ideal weight. If you are not eating more calories than this, you will definitely have to lose weight without exercise.

2 , Calculate the amount of weight you would lose

After you must have determined your calorie maintenance level, you can do a little maths to figure out how to lose a specific amount of weight. There are about 3500 calories to be found in 1 lb. of food. If you are able to skip 3500 calories less a week than you currently eat, then you would lose 1lb.

However, ensure that the amount of calories you eat every day is not less than the number of calories you need. It is not advisable to cut calories below the expected minimum as this is not healthy. Ensure not to eat less than the standard recommended calorie for your body as this will slow down your metabolism

The truth remains that you can shed kilos through calorie restriction alone, but you cannot maintain weight loss without exercise. Weight loss without exercise is possible but it is not ideal. A combination of exercises along with a healthy diet will make weight loss effective.
